Arts Benicia is pleased to announce the opening of Cream -from the top. The goal of this exhibition, which is in its third year, is to introduce the artists that have risen to the top of their respective classes in five Bay Area graduate arts programs: The San Francisco Art Institute, The California College of the Arts, U.C. Berkeley, Mills College, and Stanford University. Artists include: Frank Abruzzese, Leslie Awender, Sarah L. Barsness, Steven Budden, Omar Chacon, Freddy Chandra, Daniel Cox, Binh Danh, Bryan Hewitt, David O. Johnson, Tae Kitakata, Sean Olson, Julia Page, Sue Pak, Alison Petty, Molly Springfield Jackie Sumell and Sonja Thomsen.

Kathryn Weller-Renfrow, Arts Benicia’s Artistic Director, attended eight Masters of Fine Arts exhibits in the region and reviewed the work of dozens of artists, selecting work to be shown at Arts Benicia. The astonishing diversity of creative vision in the graduate programs is well represented and continues to present viewers with compelling innovations in traditional and non-traditional media and imagery. Many of the artists chosen for the past two Cream exhibitions have already achieved notable success in their careers, receiving honors, awards, and shows all over the world.
