Mernie has been painting studio art and designing & painting commissions for decorative art and portraits in the Bay Area & Las Vegas for 28 years. Her work ranges from logos to murals - from watercolors to stage sets.

Mernie received a BA in Art from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1977 and continued studies at the California College of Arts and Crafts. Her work is award winning and internationally collected. She is represented by Epperson Gallery in Crockett and the Moloka'i Fine Arts Gallery in Kaunakakai.

Mernie has been commissioned to design and paint murals for Bay Area homes, restaurants & businesses, including the San Francisco Zoo, Community Youth Center, San Francisco Airport and Delta Memorial Hospital.

Mernie has also been the lead scenic artist for over 30 Bay Area theater productions. She most recently painted Cabaret and 1776 at the Willows Theatre in Concord. Stop by Mernie's downtown studio (across from the Union Hotel) during Open Studios weekend and see 35 new original paintings in the 'Faux Louvre' series of contemporary masterpiece studies at special Open Studio prices.
