If you really look, you'll find beauty in the most mundane subjects: some luscious color; a shape, smooth and touchable, sensuous, or surprisingly abrupt, rough; a close-up of an item we usually rush past, or which rushes past us; most of all, how light touches and changes things, depending on the time of day. Sometimes the beauty is in the nostalgia provoked by a homely subject. That's how I see it. And that's always what I'm trying to portray. |

I came to art, that is, participating in it, late, after raising three daughters, after twenty years in local real estate sales and management. As soon as I started, I knew it was going to be important. I’ve taken and continue to take classes all over the Bay Area, and have affiliated myself with Vallejo Artists’ Guild, Arts Benicia, California Watercolor Association, and many, many artists in every discipline. My life now is almost completely art oriented, totally enjoyable. My advice to anyone at all interested in being an artist is, JUST DO IT!! |
