Biography

I have studied dreams for 17 years, meeting weekly with a group of friends. In our self -analysis, we tend to use Jungian method and principle. We do this to bring our unconscious to consciousness, both for growth and enjoyment. My dreams have inspired my subject matter and have encouraged me to pursue my art.I have been drawing off and on for years.

My formal training consists of various excellent courses at California Junior Colleges.

Other than that, I am self-taught. I have traveled, studying the work of masters, and use the library.

I use charcoal extensively in my work. It is a good choice for dreams, giving the picture a dream like quality. I was made aware of this by the work of Odilon Redon and Georges Seurat.

The subjects of my pictures are mostly from my own dreams, but also come from other people who have vividly described their dreams to me.

Some of the abstract pictures capture colors and images which appear just before waking.

I have exhibited pictures in shows in Walnut Creek, Roseville, and Santa Cruz, and in the Walnut Creek Public Library.
