Born in Oakland, CA, David Ernst attended school at Diablo Valley College and San Francisco State University. Currently living in Crocket, his studio is in Benicia. He works in watercolor, acrylic and oils. "I have always been drawn to Expressionist and Figurative painting. Surrealism and the Painters of the Bay Area have had the strongest influence on my work. The idea of working from the imagination with little or no preconception has always seemed the most interesting."
