ARTIST’S STATEMENT:

I was born in England, spent my early childhood in Japan and was raised in Minnesota. I’ve lived in and around Benicia since early 80’s. As a young adult, I studied life drawing at the Univerisity of Minnesota, then pottery/ceramics for 4 years at Solano College. I co-founded and operated Creative Play Studio where we taught children’s art classes for nearly eight years. I later worked at Smyers Glass studio as a glass painter, and experimented with glassblowing and glass bead-making. I’ve dabbled in glass slumping and fusing as well as mehndi body art. I currently paint hand-blown glass keepsake ornaments for holidays and weddings and make hand-linked glass-bead jewelry. My work has been featured at Smyers Glass in Benicia, the “Wrap it up” boutique in Benicia and assorted art festivals.
