Bypassing all formalities of fanfare and aggrandizement, what you view in my artwork is one man's simple interpretation of reality. My experience in visual communications had its inception at our grandparents' kitchen table where my drawing of Clark's oil refinery once raised the critical eyebrow of an uncle. Later, I would practice stylizing certain letters of the alphabet. Throughout grammar school years, during which most visual explorations were on intermittent hold, I trustingly aligned myself with pumping out polkas and obereks on the accordion. Blessed with a good ear, I was eventually able to pick out television theme songs and tunes from the radio. |

The next few decades of my education included various opportunities to triangulate subject, mind and hand into countless examples of personal expression. After leaving the familiar comfort of the Midwest for the unknown challenges of California, I have reacquainted my hands with the materials that transform a vision into a piece. Currently I am doing studies with watercolors and acrylic paints. I've been involved in the visual procurement process for nearly four decades. With a modest amount of education in drawing, painting, sculpture and accordion playing some of my ideas have materialized. In the future, I plan to further explore possibilities combining these media. |
