The human form and gesture excites me. I paint on large and small canvases, draw with charcoal and pastel, and work in printmaking and mixed media. I spontaneously create with color and texture using figures, faces, and icons to search for a deeper understanding of life - a connection that all life forms share, seen and unseen. I work on an emotional level without a preconceived idea about the outcome of the artwork which I am working on.

Since making art is my way of unleashing what is inside of me - I work quickly with a tremendous amount of energy released in the process. Colors fuel different emotions - as anger (a bold in your face red) or love (a shade of rose) or passion (a brilliant orange-red). Perhaps the mystery of not knowing the outcome, being able to let go of my vision, or even change it completely, generates the passion I have in moving forward as an artist and as a human being.
