Originally from Vallejo, Judi has lived and worked in Benicia, Orange county, Amsterdam and Nayarit Mexico. Although she has no formal art education, Judi has spent the last 20 years making found-object jewelry, practicing mehndi (henna) body art, designing and making costumes, and playing with mosaic and clay. A nomad at heart, Judi returns to Benicia between each move, where where she is best known her for my amusing 'sushi' bracelets. Judi has lived in Pacific Grove since August 2005, and takes up residence in Black Rock City each August for Burning Man, where her costuming and mehndi skills are greatly appreciated.

After years of coordinating events for Arts Benicia, her job as program director of Artista Creative Safaris for Women, finally got Judi to paint. She's been painting abstract landscapes, seascapes and pure abstracts since January 2005, under the instruction of accomplished Carmel artist, Lauryn Taylor. The lush scenery of ocean, forest and sunsets in Carmel, Monterey and Big Sur influence Judi's palettes of firey-reds, spring-green and ocean-blues.

She works with heavy gesso and texture, using acrylic on gesso'd watercolor paper and canvas. Judi's abstracts are inspired by Carol Dalton, Mark Eanes and Lauryn Taylor, and her works have been exhibited in Benicia and Carmel shows.
