Roland M. Regala is a serious painter who feels the excitement and enjoys the fun of painting. For Roland, the excitement is found in the colors, the lines, texture and form. His works in acrylic touches upon the religious, abstracts and still life. But Roland will admit that his love is modern art, from Picasso to Chagall to Miro and to Klee.

Roland was born in the Philippines. It was at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila that Roland earned his bachelor's degree in fine arts, major in advertising and graphic design. He taught at the same university after he graduated. Later, at the California College of the Arts in Oakland, Roland took a special graduate course in graphic, package and advertising design. With his natural ability in the arts combined with his formal education, Roland expanded his horizons to delve into graphic design.

As a professional, Roland is familiar and experienced in most aspects of graphic communications, including design and layout, presentations, color specifications, type specifications, production, press check and job supervision from concept to finished product.
Roland worked as an art director for Touchdown Illustrated in San Francisco, which published the official football magazine for the Pac-10 conference, the Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl and Sugar Bowl plus some other major bowl publications.

After almost ten years of working for someone, he established his own studio in San Francisco and was eventually moved to Benicia. Roland is involved with design development for brochures, magazines, advertisements, corporate identity, and package and labeling.

Yet, for all his professional abilities and experience, Roland loves to step back and focus on his art, his own creations. It is, after all, the love of art that defines Roland's ability as an artist and graphic designer.
