Gerry Severson is an artist who shares a love of, and draws inspiration from, the plein air painting tradition of his native California.

A graduate of San Jose State University with a degree in Commercial Art, he is now back in California, free to follow the endless motifs offered by the bay area landscape after a 30-year career as an award-winning advertising art director in San Francisco and New York.

As a result of his art director background, Gerry's plein air work exhibits compositional strength and graphic simplicity with light and shadow playing important roles.
