Making prints for me is an intriguing process that combines intention and surprise. Sometimes the image when transferred from plate to paper presents new qualities or accidents that help to transform or enhance the original idea. The work reveals itself in stages, and when a print is successful, a coherence of color, texture, form and spirit is achieved. I like the saying "The riches accumulate unobtrusively". As the print develops by layering and multiple runs through the press, it may grow in richness to tell a story or elicit a mood. My current work explores the moods of introspection, meditation and quiet. |
