William Kentridge: Certain Doubts

South African artist William Kentridge has worked in just about every medium, but he's best known for his charcoal drawing animations -- the style of which is evoked by the grainy Super 8 stock on which this documentary about Kentridge is shot. Following the artist from South Africa to Brazil , where he's setting up an installation, the film explores the social contradictions of Kentridge's work as well as the impact of landscape on his art.

This film is being shown in conjunction with our April 2 & 4 SF Art Walk + Lecture, in which Kentridge's retrospective will be discussed & toured at the SF Museum of Modern Art . For more information on the April 2 & 4 SF Art Walk + Lecture go here.
