Artist Statement:
"I allow painting to speak to me.  I experiment by adding and subtracting from the surface to find what is true. For almost 2 years I have been drawn by the strength, growth, time and place I find in trees. I am inspired by relationships; specifically doors and windows become significant in defining the deeper observations I have. Opening and closures - What is intrinsically hidden by the apparent surface, what is revealed by looking beyond? Currently, I am involved collaboratively with a colleague, exploring our process, journeying without verbal dialogue, letting go of outcome and keeping community as our basis in 16 works on wood."
