Bio
Ro is a prolific artist with a background in scientific research and a degree in veterinary medicine.  She is one of the members of that rare breed whose left-brain and right brain functions inter digitate effortlessly, switching back and forth

at a moment's notice between the highly organized world of science and the highly creative but demanding realm of art. "I love the sciences but art is my passion!"  She credits her art for helping her heal through a series of devastating, life-threatening illnesses that she has suffered through the past ten years like stroke, brain aneurysm and hypertension.
These add a poignant temporal urgency to her paintings, " I paint this way - because each painting I make could be my last."
A prolific and versatile artist, this year she has exhibited in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.  She speaks 4 languages and understands a fifth. Her paintings are owned by patrons in America, Canada, Europe and Asia. Ro's artwork is now a part of the Rene and Veronica di Rosa Foundation, displayed at the prestigious Di Rosa Preserve.  Her mural graces Genentech's Main St. She is an active board member of the Vallejo Artists' Guild and a member of Arts Benicia, Fairfield Visual Arts, and Visual Aid.
Statement
I am a mixed-media artist with a penchant for history, science, trivia and social issues. The research for my artwork is garnered from a combination of books, magazines and the Internet. Originally, my mixed media collages were created as small-scale studies for much larger-format oil paintings.   However,  I just have too many ideas for paintings in my mind that I was afraid that I won't have the time to do them all.
So these research studies became the paintings. My life
and hence my art is an abject lesson in mortality. Having almost died three times and survived, I realize the fleeting quality of life and how it so quickly becomes an artifact.  I am so grateful and happy I have my art.  Because of my art, even though it might be brief, my life won't be just an archival curiosity.  It gives me comfort to think that even when I'm gone, I will be in the thoughts of the living because of the joy my artwork brings.
